FurnishNet
to Demonstrate Supply Chain Solutions at Fall High Point
Market
October 9, 2001
Retailers
invited to see how transactions are processed;
special manufacturer program announced
HIGH
POINT, NC - FurnishNet today announced that it will
demonstrate its Internet-based solutions for transaction
management here during the Fall High Point Market,
October 18-25. Retailers and manufacturers will be
able to see how purchase orders, acknowledgements,
advance ship notices, and invoices are processed using
FurnishNet. In addition to live demonstrations in
its permanent space on the 12th floor of the International
Home Furnishings Center, FurnishNet will arrange on-site
meetings with manufacturers in their showrooms.
Using
state-of-the-art plasma screens to project the live
demonstration, retailers can see the data flow for
key transactions using FurnishNet. Along with a step-by-step
explanation of how the process works, retailers can
discover how to send a purchase order and accept acknowledgements,
advance ship notices and invoices electronically directly
into their system.
"We're
looking forward to showing how our solutions for transaction
management and parts management can benefit all retailers,
regardless of what computer system they are currently
using," said Ron Sellers, FurnishNet's Vice President
of Sales. "With this Market, retailers can see firsthand
how FurnishNet works, and get a better sense of how
easy it is to streamline transactions electronically
with their manufacturers."
In
addition to the special screenings available to retailers
during Market, FurnishNet has announced the launch
of its manufacturers program. FurnishNet's dedicated
sales team will be scheduling meetings with manufacturers
in their showrooms to review the current and projected
volume of transactions passing through FurnishNet,
and also to discuss the benefits of connecting to
FurnishNet's growing retail community.
"We've
made a lot of exciting announcements over the past
few weeks regarding retailers that have signed with
FurnishNet," said Sellers. "We're looking forward
to meeting with manufacturers during Market to walk
them through the benefits of connecting to the retail
community through FurnishNet. The benefit for manufacturers
is that FurnishNet can accelerate the adoption rate
for electronic transactions with their key business
partners, which will save them time, reduce manual
processes, and, best of all, save them money."
