New
business brings $885 million in contracted purchase
order volume to exchange
SAN
DIEGO, CA - FurnishNet today announced that an additional
seven retailers have selected FurnishNet to handle
electronic transaction exchanges with their trading
partners. With combined sales of more than $300 million
last year, the retailers will use FurnishNet to electronically
send purchase orders and receive purchase order acknowledgements,
advance ship notices, and invoices. These deals represent
FurnishNet's expanding presence in the home furnishings
industry as retailers and manufacturers alike implement
technologies that will improve communications between
trading partners, streamline business processes, and
reduce costs for a greater return on investment.
"With
these new deals, we are contracted to manage more
than $885 million in purchase order volume," said
Ron Sellers, Vice President of Sales. "We've demonstrated
to the industry the value of utilizing Web-based technology
to drive down operating costs and improve the consumer
experience. Retailers and manufacturers have responded,
and have firmly established FurnishNet as the most
successful transaction exchange in the home furnishings
industry."
The
retailers that recently signed with FurnishNet include

Levin Furniture, Roomful Express Furniture, Rotmans,
and Selden's Interior Furnishings.
FurnishNet's

(EDI), XML, and faxed-based processes into a unique
"Any-to-Any" exchange, FurnishNet is able to translate
the information into the appropriate format for the
