Retail
software supplier will offer Web-based electronic
document exchange to facilitate lower costs,
fewer errors, faster delivery, and increased
customer satisfaction.
SAN
DIEGO, CA -PROFITsystems, a leading retail software
supplier headquartered in Colorado Springs,
CO, today announced that they have reached a
strategic alliance agreement with FurnishNet
to make their supply chain connectivity solutions
available for PROFITsystems' users. This agreement
provides PROFITsystems' customers with FurnishNet's
practical, affordable alternative to EDI and
rapid connectivity to over 375 manufacturers.
"With
so many manufacturer connections, the huge volume
of purchase orders already being sent and the
rate of growth in PO volume, FurnishNet is clearly
the leader in business to business connectivity
in the home furnishings industry. With the most
manufacturer connections in the industry, FurnishNet
is the best way for our retailers to connect
electronically with the most vendors in the
shortest timeframe possible," said Brian
McCarthy, President of PROFITsystems. "We
are particularly excited about FurnishNet's
Transaction Management services, which includes
a unique Internet-based application that allows
our retailers to connect with any manufacturer
that is EDI-enabled or not," said McCarthy.
PROFITsystems has completed the integration
work with FurnishNet and will provide this new
connectivity feature to their 750 clients in
their upcoming Version 10.2 of PROFITwindows,
slated for October release.
FurnishNet's
solution for Transaction Management speeds the
accurate transmission of purchase orders, purchase
order acknowledgements, advance ship notices,
invoices, and many other transaction types.
By integrating e-mail, web applications, electronic
data interchange (EDI), and XML, into a unique
"Any-to-Any" exchange, FurnishNet
is able to translate the information into the
appropriate format for the immediate electronic
flow of information between business partners
of any size, running on any corporate system.
"This
partnership with PROFITsystems will greatly
benefit their home furnishings retailers who
have neither the inclination nor the budget
to invest in a complex EDI network," said
Ronald B. Sellers, vice president of sales for
FurnishNet. "Our Web-based electronic document
exchange makes it easy and affordable for any
retailer to dramatically lower operating costs,
improve their business processes, and heighten
the customer experience."
PROFITsystems
will also offer FurnishNet's Parts Management,
a simple point-and-click Web application that
allows retailers to send parts purchase orders
directly to the manufacturer's Parts Desk. Employing
email alerts for online status notifications
and carrier tracking numbers to closely monitor
shipments, Parts Management significantly contributes
to reduced costs and improved customer satisfaction.
