Cardi’s Furniture Superstores Moves to Furnishnet with 503 Vendor Connections

July 12, 2006

Cardi’s Furniture Superstores of Swansea, MA recently completed the first phase of electronic connectivity to the FurnishNet transaction exchange network. Over 500 unique vendor connections were established for electronic merchandise and parts orders order processing. Phase two of the project is now in progress for electronic invoice processing.

The FurnishNet solution integrates Web applications, electronic data interchange (EDI), XML, and e-mail into a unique "Any-to-Any" exchange for the processing of over 300 transaction types electronically between trading partners. The most common transactions types processed electronically include purchase orders, purchase order acknowledgements, advance ship notices, and invoices. FurnishNet is able to translate data files into appropriate formats for the electronic flow of information between trading partners of any size, running on any corporate system. Because the FurnishNet service is able to transfer data without the use of a VAN, the need for expensive EDI mapping software as well as a traditional EDI VAN network are eliminated, thereby reducing expenses and simplifying connectivity.
